Our Story
Fahamu means "understanding" in Swahili. For us, that means understanding Tanzania deeply enough to share it honestly — its wildlife, its landscapes, its people, and the moments that make a journey truly unforgettable.
We are based in Arusha, the gateway to Tanzania's northern safari circuit. From here, we create private safaris, Kilimanjaro climbs, and beach holidays shaped entirely around the people taking them. Not templates. Not packages pulled from a catalogue. Journeys designed with you, for you.
Founders
Fahamu was founded in 2019 by two friends who met in school and shared more than a friendship, they shared an entrepreneurial instinct and a deep love for their country.
Jastone brings extensive experience from Tanzania's safari industry. Solomon comes from a background in IT. Together, they built something neither could have built alone: a company rooted in local knowledge, personal service, and a genuine commitment to showing Tanzania at its best.
When COVID-19 hit shortly after launch, they navigated it together. That resilience is still at the core of how Fahamu operates today — steady, personal, and focused on the long term.
