1) Booking and Contract

The contract with Fahamu Safaris Ltd is concluded upon written confirmation, which is sent after receipt of a down payment and serves as a binding agreement. Customers have the responsibility to review and verify the accuracy of the confirmation in relation to their booking details. If any discrepancies are noticed, they should be reported as soon as they become known.

By making a payment, customers confirm their acceptance of these general terms and conditions. We recommend that customers print and carry the booking confirmation with them. Customers must be at least 18 years old to make a booking; certain partners of Fahamu Safaris may have higher age requirements, in which case clients will be informed prior to booking.

2) Deposit and Payment

Fahamu Safaris Ltd only accepts bank transfers and credit card payments, as these methods provide the highest level of transparency and security for both parties. To secure a trip and initiate the necessary booking procedures, a deposit of 40% of the total invoice amount must be paid within 14 days of the invoice date. Bookings with international flights are an exception, please refer to section 6.

Customers receive an invoice containing all the required payment instructions. When making a bank transfer, it is crucial to ensure that all details precisely match the company's information, including the company name, IBAN or account number, bank name and the associated SWIFT code. Fahamu Safaris will not assume responsibility for payments made using details other than those provided, and the invoice amount must be transferred in the currency specified on the invoice.

Failure to make full payment without providing a written explanation will automatically result in the cancellation of the booking, subject to our cancellation policy. For bookings made within 30 days of the arrival date, full payment is required at the time of booking. Any transfer fees accrued during the payment process are the responsibility of the sender; where fees are levied, the customer will receive a corresponding return invoice to account for those charges.

3) Booking Amendments

A processing fee of 50 USD applies to changes to existing bookings made by the customer.

4) Insurance

The sole responsibility lies with the customer to ensure they possess sufficient and comprehensive travel and medical insurance. This insurance should cover all medical expenses and repatriation costs. Optional insurance to consider includes cancellation and interruption insurance, evacuation insurance (e.g. Flying Doctors) and insurance for damage, theft or loss of luggage and personal belongings.

If a customer cancels a booking with multiple participants, the cancellation will apply to the entire group, resulting in the cancellation of the trip for all participants. This is because our tours are group-based and the price is determined by the total number of travellers. Should some participants wish to proceed with the trip, the price will be recalculated based on the updated number of participants.

*Special conditions apply when we book international flights on your behalf, see section 6.

6) International Flights

For offers including international flights, the quoted price remains valid for 5 days from the date of the offer. To secure this price, the customer must confirm the booking via email within this period. After 5 days the fare may be subject to change, which could affect the total cost of the trip.

Full payment (100% of the total price) is required within 10 days of receiving the invoice. Our offers are based on non-refundable flight fares to ensure the best possible conditions; consequently, these flights are non-refundable in the event of a trip cancellation. Flexible flight options with rebooking or cancellation are available upon request.
